Dear Fellow Massage Therapist,
I do not see massage as a luxury. I believe in Massage Therapy as important healthcare. That is obviously not how we are perceived by the Ohio Department of Taxation though. If Massage Therapy was seen as important for health promotion, maintenance and restoration, we would not be charging sales tax – would we?
Yes, it’s important to get that tax law overturned. But more important still is that we live our belief in our profession so that our value to health is clearly seen.
I have faith in Massage Therapy as a serious profession and picture a serious independent practice for myself. I accepted the opportunity to make that vision a reality. As I continue to create my practice, I am extending an invitation for you or a friend to join me.
Why?
A fellow therapist founded Touchpoint Clinical Massage to address the challenges of building and maintaining a successful independent massage practice. The responsibilities of a private practice: caring for your clients, caring for your office space and treatment area, record keeping, accounting, and (the big one) marketing are formidable. Many therapists aren’t sure where to begin or find it difficult to maintain their focus and energy. Together we can help each other with business issues and cheer each other on.
The Vision
Touchpoint Clinical Massage is a practice setting, which has both freedom and support for massage therapists who wish to explore and live their belief in the healing power of massage therapy. The core of the vision is this:
A community of successful massage therapists, sharing a beautiful, affordable, professional practice setting and supporting each other in growth, clinical knowledge, and business skills
Professional Community
We call our professional community the Touchpoint Group. We are all licensed massage therapists in private practice (sole proprietors) who have joined together to form a professional Group. We share the common value of belief in our work and the shared interest of creating both our individual practices and the Group Practice, which serves us all. Mutual respect and caring make it work.
The advantages are powerful. Some of them are:
Sharing of clinical expertise
Sharing of information about how to run a business
Brainstorming/ masterminding
Team marketing
Pooling of resources to provide a more beautiful practice setting than any of us could afford on our own….
A beautiful practice setting
Touchpoint Clinical Massage is in a professional office complex in Centerville.
The building is fully handicapped accessible with ramps and an elevator. It has carpeted, softly lit hallways and faces a lovely courtyard with a fountain. Our neighbors include counselors, physicians, dentists, financial service professionals and engineers. The building is a minute or less from routes 675, 725 and 48. Centerville is a growing and affluent area.
Our suite was renovated in to a beautiful and serene massage clinic. From the waiting room, through the central office/reception area, the break room, restroom and five massage rooms; rich colors and textures create a warm and inviting feel. The office is carpeted wall to wall with oak stained woodwork, central air and heat, sound system, full laundry facility and amazing artwork by local artists.
Every time I go in to work, I feel uplifted and deeply grateful. I believe we all do. And we want others to feel this way. In fact, we need others to join us in order to make it work.
Field of Dreams
Touchpoint Clinical Massage is a ‘field of dreams’ – built with the trust that therapists and clients will come. But it is not a pipe dream. There is a carefully thought out plan and organization.
We are offering an opportunity for therapists to join our Group. Any therapist? No. We are looking for new Group members who:
Believe in the value of massage for health promotion, maintenance and restoration
Can give and receiving mutual respect and support in a team creating positive energy
Are willing to invest time and energy both in teamwork and the leadership required by shared ownership.
Also, therapists must be licensed to practice massage in Ohio and have their own malpractice insurance.
Affordable?
Part of the vision for Touchpoint is that it be affordable. So the business plan is based on shared expenses, which means that we need to have enough therapists to make it work. This is an opportunity for Group members to build a practice in a community setting.
Group fees of $450 per month for a Full Group Member or $150 growing to $300 per month for an Associate Group Member, the Clinic will provide the following resources:
- Attractive, private treatment rooms with standard massage tables
- Utilities including water, sewer, electric and trash pickup
- Massage linens
- Basic professional grade massage lotion
- Sound system in each treatment room and some music
- On-site washer/ dryer facilities
- Laundry detergent
- Copy machine
- Letterhead and envelopes
- Phone system
- Website
Do-able!
Listen to your heart. If what we are building, what I have been describing speaks to you then please call or email me. I would love to hear from you.
This is do-able! It is happening. We need additional Group members who will bring their love of our profession and their positive energy to build with us. Perhaps this is you. Or perhaps it is someone you know.
Blessings,
Rosaleen
